Dear dory,

Suh was once again intrigued by the urge to go to Bangkok this summer. BUT the air ticket prices have rose by almost 100% as compared to the previous month. In total now, the air ticket alone can cost 330 sing dollars now! It is like sucking my blood and hard earned money dry. Sigh Due to the high air ticket prices, the Bangkok trip is canceled, yet again. Why all the unsuccessful attempts, first is the riots, then swine flu, and now the sky rocket prices. Grr...so after one big round, there is still no Bangkok. Suh shall make full use of the Great Singapore Sale to update her wardrobe, make full use of her hard earned money to maximize her consumer satisfaction.

Her wants:

1) More clothes to compensate for the three full bags of clothes she donated away

2) Bags that are adequate to go school

3) A nice camera with high pixels so she can take tons of picture

4) Iphone/ Nokia N71

Grandma started to rely on clutches to help her walk. My heart hurts seeing her getting weaker and weaker every time, she used to be a strong lady who has the strength of an elephant, someone so independent. But now, she can hardly open a can of mushrooms using the can opener.

For the past few days, grandma and third uncle have been staying at my house. And every day, without fail, my house will be filled with laughter and tons of good food brought by my aunties and cousins. Everyday, my aunties will bring my grandma to places that she wants to go. The whole atmosphere is just, ...different. So different that Suh's scared, and she wonders, is everyone doing this because time is running out?

Shit, someone is squeezing my heart with all her might now.

No, please. Stop it now.

Dear dory,

Suh went to watch "Taken" with Jie Wei yesterday. It was really nice, and touching. Suh couldn't believe that a father's love can be so great, especially to the extent of risking himself of getting killed just to find out the whereabouts of his daughter. Will my dad do that? Haha...But I really don't want to try, imagine yourself in the hands of the traffickers, I'll rather die from banging the wall than to die from drug overdose. Eww.

Dory, sometimes do you have the feeling that you lead a really sheltered life, oblivious of so many thoughts around you. Sometimes, suh does feel that way, most of the time. When people around you can somehow predict your mind, and yet you cannot do that to them. I don't like this feeling...made me feel so vulnerable. Sigh.

Adversity

Dear dory,

Suh was reading the May's issue of Reader's Digest and she came across this phrase which she thought is very meaningful. It goes like this,

"You will never truly know yourself or the strength of your relationships until
both have been tested by adversity" ~ JK Rowling

When differences occur between couples or friends, the process of searching for a solution to solve the situation at hand is hard and more often than not, we are either tempted to leave the differences aside hoping that it will vanish by itself after some time or to ask someone who has the ability to help us settle. But are these solution the best to prevent the differences from happening again? No they aren't because both parties do not learn and it also deprive them a chance to learn, in this case, to accept and embrace the differences.

Was talking to YC just now via MSN, it was kind of weird when she got so hyped up when we touched on the topic about boon hong. She felt unfair for suh that he actually got so close to another girl without my knowledge, and missed the big opportunity. Thank you so much darling for being so concerned with this matter, makes suh felt so embraced with your big love. Muacks!
Haha well, suh thinks that neither party should be blamed. If it is necessary, blame it on fate. Blame fate for not bringing the two of us together, it's destiny that time for both of us can be so perfectly wrong. Dory you might ask - does suh regret for not taking up the chance? The word 'regret' has never exist in suh's world, because she believes in the old saying,

"What's meant to be yours, will be yours one day."

To suh now, friends and family are still the most important. The one? Haha! We shall see. =)

Band Practice

Victoria Concert Hall

Yup that's the concert name for this year's AMB concert, its not AMBIENCE because this concert will be one that is entirely dedicated to alumnus. Suh is involved in it, though not those significant part where she has solos or any parts featuring her skills, but she's really excited over this concert. Because she can once again play on her favorite horn! Yayness. So dory, will you support suh?

Went for band practice this morning, and was welcomed by two hornists who were not from AMB, they are Mr Lim's friends. Their skills were good, hundred times better than suh. Though sometimes to the extent of making suh feel redundant, but suh is very appreciative to them for making the extra effort to help AMB alumni band. Thank you Benjamin and Jeremy! Mr Lim flared up today because of attendance and commitment issue, again (it happens every year before concerts get near). He was angry with the commitment that we alumnus had towards this concert - turn up as and when as we like. But oh well, this problem cannot be solved, because as he had said, we are adults now. Each of us have our own commitments.

Speaking of which, there might be a possibility that because of that, suh might not be able to get a job during this period. Oh wells...what should I do? Still go ahead and apply for jobs? Sponsorship for Freshman bash sub comm has got quite a number of things that they expect from us. Will suh be able to cope with it, if a summer job comes in? So far there's Bare your sole, Freshman bash, Adidas Sundown marathon volunteer and this alumni band.

Because of the swine flu, trip to Bangkok is cancelled! So sad! Sigh
